Starting as an initiative of the EU Safe Borders project in 2024 and taken up by the Insafe network as one of its earliest actions in 2005, Safer Internet Day has grown beyond its traditional geographic zone and is now celebrated in more than 180 countries and territories worldwide.
From cyberbullying to social networking to digital identity,
each year Safer Internet Day aims to raise awareness of emerging online issues
and current concerns.
Together with
the children, we discussed in our classes about the dangers that appear on the
Internet. the risks to which children are subjected and how
we can defend
ourselves. We played online games and created cards with characters that
personify the dangers and safety on the Internet.
