MOBILITY IN ROMANIA -SPORT UNITES NATIONS

Between March 17 and 22, 2024, the Rosiori de Vede, Romania community had the honor of hosting the Unity in Diversity project activities at the Mihai Eminescu Secondary School. 6 teachers and 15 students from partner countries, Poland, Turkiye, Greece, teaching staff from our school, students, parents, members of the local community participated.

On Monday, the guests were traditionally welcomed with bread and salt, then led around the school. They participated in the opening of the event in the school amphitheater, where representatives of the School Inspectorate and the Mayor of our locality also participated. Information about the project, the school and the education system was presented. Because the theme of the meeting was sports, all mobility took place like a team competition. The children were divided into four mixed teams from the 4 countries. They all participated in a demonstration of the national sport of Romania - Oina.

  • Tuesday was an intense day, with tests for our teams. We trained our minds at the robotics workshop where each team set robots in motion, they demonstrated our talent at the art workshop, where each team drew a flag.

We participated in a riddle show, Quizz show, where younger colleagues challenged us to guess which country it represents through the roles played. Then we learned a few steps from Calusul, a very exciting traditional Romanian dance.

Each country prepared information about national sports and traditional games and gave demonstrations. The children were teachers for their peers.
The teams also won points in the archery test. For this we received medals and flags from the Romanian Olympic Committee.

On Wednesday, we went on a beautiful visit to the country's capital, Bucharest, where we visited the Palace of the Parliament and the Old Town and a quick tour through the capital.

On Thursday, the competition continued, this time through outdoor activities in the mountains. The teams were challenged to bowling outside, playing Angry Birds and a shooting game.We visited the Bran Brasov area, the Bran Castle, the Valley of Stories.
In the evening, after the Bulz ciobanesc gastronomic workshop, we all received t-shirts with the project's logo. It seems that all the teams worked hard and the score was equal. We were all awarded, we won medals and Unity in diversity trophies. And like any brand event, we ended the evening with a festive cake with fireworks.

The first meeting of students and teachers from countries participating in the international project "Unity in Diversity" co-financed by the European Union is behind us. On October 8-13, 2023 our school had the honor of hosting 15 students and 6 teachers fro m   Türkiye , Greece and Romania. We have been preparing for this event for a very long time, in which the entire school community was involved. It was an organizational meeting - The Kick off meeting, which was also intended to familiarize guests with the traditions of Polish cuisine and emphasize the role of health prevention, which is an important topic for everyone, regardless of where they live.   On Sunday, we welcomed guests at the airport in Krakow. The students participating in the project are children aged 10-12, so this time we decided to stay overnight in a hotel where they remained under the
